Dear OFIS Parents and Staff Members:
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we worked to resolve the isolated hazardous materials contamination that took place in our building late yesterday afternoon. I am pleased to report that the crew from Chemtron, a company specializing in the clean-up of hazardous materials, completed the clean-up Thursday afternoon and we have been given the all-clear that it is safe for students and staff to return to the building.
The crew from Chemtron arrived on-site at OFIS at approximately 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The impacted area was thoroughly cleaned and tested. All readings are now within normal limits, and the official all-clear for students and staff to return was given at approximately 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
OFIS has now been officially reopened, and Thursday's regularly scheduled OFBA Youth Basketball practices got underway as normal.
School will be open and back in session Friday, January 30th for all OFIS students and staff.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding. The health and safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance, and we are pleased to have been able to effectively resolve this situation today.
