DISTRICT PLACES 6.4 MILL OPERATING LEVY ON NOVEMBER 3RD BALLOT

The Olmsted Falls Board of Education has unanimously passed a resolution to place a 6.4 Mill Operating Levy on the November 3, 2009 election ballot to generate much needed operating dollars for the Olmsted Falls School District.

The last operating levy passed by voters residing in the Olmsted Falls School District boundaries was in February 1999.  Since the passage of the last operating levy, student enrollment has grown by more than 28%.

The 6.4 Mill Operating Levy is anticipated to last through the 2012-2013 school year.  The cost of the 6.4 mill levy will be $98 per half for a $100,000 home.  The cost per half for owners of a $150,000 home will be $147; $196 per half for owners of $200,000 home; and $245 per half for owners of a $250,000 home.

Another levy meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd at 7:00 p.m. in the Olmsted Falls Middle School cafeteria.  All parents, staff and community members are invited to attend.  t this meeting, an overview of District finances will be provided along with a short question and answer period.  Following this presentation, the Pride In Olmsted Schools Committee will outline their plan for the levy information campaign.
