New Partnership Provides Sports Complex Naming Rights and Sponsorship Resources to Enhance Facilities Without The Use of Taxpayer Funds.

Olmsted Falls, OH (Thursday, April 15, 2021) – Olmsted Falls City School District is proud to announce the expansion of its existing partnership with Southwest General Health Center, the state-of-the-art Health Center located in Middleburg Heights, OH, which has been providing exemplary medical services to our community since 1920. The newest chapter in this established partnership provides Southwest General with naming rights to the sports complex at the Olmsted Falls High School campus along with exclusive sponsorship opportunities.

“We are ecstatic with this opportunity to expand our partnership with Southwest General and look forward to the enhancements this deepened community partnership will bring to our students, our school district and the greater Olmsted Falls community,” said Dr. Jim Lloyd, PhD, superintendent, Olmsted Falls City Schools.

Olmsted Falls City Schools and Southwest General have entered into an agreement that will generate an important alternative revenue stream for the school district while providing the Health Center with an opportunity to enhance and support community health and wellness.  Planning is currently underway for the official dedication of the “Southwest General Sports Complex” at Olmsted Falls High School, which will include signage at the Bagley Road entrance to the facility designating Southwest General as the sponsor.

The Southwest General Sports Complex will encompass all outdoor athletic facilities on campus including the Vitamix Field at Harding Memorial Stadium, varsity baseball and softball areas, tennis courts and shotput area.

“Southwest General is committed to partnering with the Olmsted Falls School District to support the building of teamwork skills, aid in the safe training of athletes and support a healthy lifestyle for young adults and families,” said Albert Matyas, FACHE, vice president, Ambulatory Operations & Business Development, Southwest General. “Southwest General’s dedication to the community’s health and wellness, along with the school district’s commitment to enhancing the education and well-being of students, are central to this partnership.”

The agreement is structured to generate a generous amount of funding for the school district over the next 10 years, with the initial revenue dedicated exclusively to the grassroots field turf initiative being coordinated through the Olmsted Athletics Commission.  Additionally, the agreement includes Southwest General as the proud sponsor of Bulldog Youth Football, Olmsted Falls Lacrosse Association and Olmsted Falls Soccer Association as well as the sponsor of the Olmsted Falls Alumni Association’s Annual Golf Outing.

The school district’s expanded partnership with Southwest General represents an ongoing effort to increase alternative revenue sources to enhance Triple A opportunities for students outside of the funding stream provided by local taxpayers.

“Demonstrating that our school district can get creative in securing new revenue streams to enhance programs and resources for our school community has been a priority for my administration for some time,” added Dr. Lloyd.  “It is very rewarding to see this latest endeavor come to fruition.”

Plans for the official dedication of the Southwest General Sports Complex will be forthcoming.
