Dear Bulldog Families,
In an effort to keep our families up-to-date with what we know at this time, we wanted to reach out with this communication. I want to recognize that I’ve received several communications from students and families regarding voting, prom and graduation. At this point we do not have the answers to these questions, but want you to know that we are actively exploring back-up plans in case that should be needed.
As of this morning, we do not have any further update from the Governor’s office as to a potential extension to the currently stated return date of Monday, April 6th. We will continue to keep our school community updated as to any developments. Our administrative team is monitoring Governor DeWine’s daily press conferences and we will plan to share updates when definitive announcements relating to schools are provided.
As we navigate our district’s continuing government mandated closure, we want to make sure our families have access to all related information and know how to reach out to us. To that end, this morning we launched a new section of our website to provide our Bulldog families with a one-stop-shop to get the latest information that we have available. We invite you to visit the new OFCS Extended District Closure Resource page at your convenience by clicking the link below:
OFCS Extended District Closure Resource Page
Here you will find links to the new Online Learning Library featuring all teacher pages, building and district contact information, information on the free lunch/snack program that has been established, opportunity for student-to-student virtual tutoring, an archive of district communications about the closure, links to official information about coronavirus, and more. We will continue to add helpful new information to this section in the coming days and will plan to update you when new resources are available.
We are in the midst of a very challenging time and our staff, families and students have answered the call. It is important for all of us to adhere to the direction that is being provided by the Governor’s Office, the Health Department and the Center for Disease Control.
Hang in there and stay tuned.
Sincerely,
Jim
